Contents
1 board, 18 long walls, 6 short walls and 2 castles.
Setup
Each player takes one castle, nine long walls and three short walls. Put the castles on opposite starting-arrow symbols and keep the walls off the board. Draw lots to decide who starts.
How to play
Be first to reach the castle symbols on the opponent’s side. On each turn, either move your castle one space forward, backward, left or right, or place one wall to hinder your opponent. You cannot do both on the same turn.
Each player may use each board symbol once. Landing on a cannon symbol allows two moves in a direction of your choice. Landing on a horse symbol allows you to remove a wall from the board or take a wall from your opponent’s supply.
Rules
- Castles cannot move diagonally or jump over walls.
- Walls cannot be moved or removed after placement, except under the horse-symbol rule.
- Never completely trap your opponent; leave a route for movement.
- You may not move your opponent’s castle.
- If the castles meet in a narrow corridor with no alternative route, the player whose turn it is jumps over the other castle to the space immediately behind it.
- Place walls horizontally, aligned with the board’s spaces. A short wall covers one unit and a long wall two.
